HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
|
How we got into this new venture still baffles me-It all started in 2006 when I was watching Paula’s Home Cooking on one of my favorite channels, Food Network. Remember the armadillo groom's cake from Steel Magnolias?
(For my millennial's you may have to Google the movie) Well, Ms. Paula was making the signature dessert of the South, red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. The recipe seemed easy and I decided to try out the recipe over the weekend, for my then fiancé, now husband's family, since I knew red velvet is one of their all-time favorite desserts. After re-creating that recipe, I was hooked, and I've been a baking fool ever since. Not to mention the love and support of my family, specifically my sister-in-law, who pushed me to venture out and bake for others. As word of mouth is a powerful advertising tool, things began to snowball from there. Since I love baking so much, we decided to turn a hobby into a new venture as we build our legacy through cakes. |
MY SPECIALTY...
We don’t really have a specialty; we honestly just love to bake and love the challenge of trying out new recipes and cake designs. If we, had to choose we would say simple buttercream designs but we are getting more creative and advancing with our design ideas and techniques with each new cake we bake.
WHAT CAN I ALWAYS EXPECT FROM LEGACY CAKERY?
We are truly driven by what we create and bring the knowledge of what we have learned throughout the years into every cake/cupcake design. Making people happy is what we do, and bringing joy to others, without a doubt, brings a smile to our faces. We try to create an atmosphere that is warm and inviting to make the process as easy as possible for all of our clients. You can expect that every time you contact us, in addition to quality homemade baked goods from scratch! Whatever the occasion, our job is to make it a little sweeter through Legacy Cakery.
HOW JARS STARTED?
The concept originally originated from loving clients who referred my cakes to friends and family out of New York State. Transport was a problem due to the delicate nature of cake. However, we was able to overcome this obstacle thanks Melissa concept of the mighty Mason Jars. The rest is history! :)
